It's been quite a while since I updated, the Evo had gone through some changes, first I loaded it up with corals and then I ended up upgrading to a bigger tank (Innovative Marine 50g lagoon with sump) and moved most the corals into that. The Evo is going to become my new nem tank and I left some soft coral in there as well.

These are before I took the corals out and moved them to the new tank.

Ok so wanted to just start this off by saying....shoulda went bigger.
Every day I just sit there looking at the tank thinking about what I want and its just to much for the little tank was going to buy a jbj 20gal rimless AIO but ended up going with this due to the fact it came with everything...little did I know so did the jbj. Which brings me to the update so I've gone and pretty much upgraded most of the stuff it comes with other then the light.

UPGRADES
-Intank media basket chamber 1
-Hygger mini wave maker
-2x 6w led bars 18leds 9 white 7000k 9 blue
-Waiting on sicce silent .5 should be here tomorrow
- 1 rfg on the stock return nozzle, probably going to just get a 1/2inch lock line rfg and run one bigger one
Also waiting on the ATO and the inkbird thermostat

So that's really it for the update, just got ammonium chloride from Dr tims because I think I messed it up by putting one and only and fryz zyme turbo 900 and a raw shrimp. Took the raw shrimp out after one day ammonia was high and nitrites and nitrates have been sitting high ever since. The next day ammonia was back down to .25 but everything else was high. So going to just dose it with his directions and see where it goes.

Can you share info on the two 6 Watt LED lights? Where did you purchase them? What do you think about them? Good for coral?

Oh man that was so long ago hahah, I ended up upgrading to the ai prime a few months in. But if your not planning on upgrading from the stock light any time soon and want more blue light and extra lighting then yea they definitely helped. I never took par readings or anything so I couldn't tell that info, but I will say it definitely added a more blue spectrum to the tank so alittle more pop in the corals and I'd definitely recommend some sort of supplemental lighting like those. I purchased them off of Amazon and they are actually water proof too, I used them for my cabinet lighting now and have one on my QT tank. But if I were to buy something like that again just get straight blue actinic LEDs cause mine were blue or white or blue and white and I never used the white bc of the stoke Evo light already having enough white light so it was pointless, but if can't find just blue then they're cheap and you can just put them on the blue setting and they have a built in timer too. The only reason I say go with straight blue is because they're were 18 LEDs on the bar but only half were blue. I'll post a link to them if I can find it give me a few and I'll post again.

I'd go with ones like these and just get a separate timer they would work ten times better just gotta mount them to the lid somehow

Haha well Im pretty newbish still so whatever I should do I'll do..should I be running the light 24 hours?
I had my chaeto in the tank and actually also had some sea grapes in my tank. Both times they died it was due to outcompeted by cyano and they didn’t nuke the tank with CO2. IMHO, there’s no right or wrong way to run a refugium.

Also hey! Great build :)
I’m just starting to build the coral up in my 2 tanks after a year for one and 2 years for the other.

Yeah, that’s the issue with the hobby!
Always wanting to upgrade, I’m in the same boat with my RS max nano at some point but I can’t go too much bigger as I have a Griessinger Goby that would get lost in anything bigger such as a 3’ tank.

Appreciate it! And yea put it in the first night went to that spot and hasn't moved haha. The tank will slowly transition into a nem tank
No worries!
Looks like it’ll be a really nice showpiece nano tank.
