How's the tank doc?

Doing well! Thanks for asking. Since the last update I've added a Majestic, Emperor, Lineatus, Pink Margin and McCosker's. I will also be adding a Blueface and Flame today and a Katoi on Tuesday. I have given up on trying to add a Regal and Bicolor as I could not get them to eat enough to compete with the Tangs in my display. SPS frags are still in QT and doing well. I hope to add frags to display in about 6-8 weeks. I'm waiting for new frags to fully encrust plugs and show signs of growth before adding to display. Obviously with my choice to also add angels to the tank, I will not be able to keep certain corals but I'm ok with that. [emoji4]

Love the fish selections! Thinking long term are you worried that all the fish may get aggressive for territory? Love that blue face!
Actually, I am. My plan was to reduce the number of tangs and add less aggressive angels. I have already removed the Desjardini, but could not trap the Purple tang. I may also remove the Majestic since he looks similar to the Blueface which I prefer.

Nice!
Looks like you are going to have one heck of a bio load. Beautiful tank and fish though.
Yes, initially I was not planning on adding this many large fish. I'm currently doing a 2 gallon/day auto water change and running biopellets so I think I should be ok. I am also still planning on removing the Purple tang and possible the Majestic angel. Thanks!

It looks fantastic doc. Great selection of beautiful fish as well. How are you liking the automatic water change system this far? Ive been contemplating doing something similar with my system.

Thank you! I'm very happy with the DOS auto-water changes. I would definitely set one up if you have the ability to do so.

Lol! Sorry, I only do braces, but you are welcome to stop by in June. I'm located in Katy just west of Houston.

Blue faces do look great! Can't wait to see them grow a bit in your system.

Update: Despite all my efforts the 2nd time around to only introduce livestock that has been thru QT, my system has had ick for the past 2 weeks and now appears to have velvet. After identifying ick in my tank 2 weeks ago, I tried a new treatment which has received some good reviews called Spots & Velvets by Probibio, but it did not work for me. Since I no longer have a tank large enough to QT this many fish, I had to once again remove all invertebrates and treat in my display. This time I decided to use Coppersafe instead of the hypo-salinity method which is ineffective against velvet. Unfortunately, overnight after identifying that my system had velvet, I lost my Emperor angel which was most affected. All other fish appears to be responding to the copper treatment. I understand that my system is now contaminated with copper and that I won't be able to replace corals for 6 months or longer, and that I may never completely remove all the copper from my system. My skimmer, biopellets, UV and carbon are all offline. I have been thru ick many times and velvet once so I am hopeful that I can limit my losses. Please wish me luck and offer any advise. Thanks!

Aww man, sorry to hear this doc. Hopefully you'll get to the other side soon enough. I've followed your journey since it started and will continue as you push through. Best of luck. Let us know what we can do to help.
