While I am waiting for my DT to get delivered (of of DEC), I decided to set up a quarntine tank for some corals I would like (since they need to be QT for 70+ days).

My Setup is:

20 gallon tank
Seachem Tidal 35
Heater
Gyre 2k
Hdyra 32

I got saltwater from my LFS, some live rock (small piece, maybe 2-3 lbs), and clown fish.

I know I am not supposed to do a water change until the cycle is over, but am I supposed to clean the filter? The Seachem 40 just has a blue fliter media, and then its bag of 'bio matrix media".

Having the fish in the QT defeats the purpose of the QT tank as far as QTing for potential fish parasites tagging along on your corals.
if the filter has good flow I wouldn’t clean it until after the cycle is done. And then only clean the filter media and not the bio media.

Thanks. The fish was just to cycle. He’s going to DT once the cycle is done.
