So the plan is for me to prepare the existing tank for the move and the builder will help me move it using the sliders on Monday morning.

He will then start working on the stand structure. We will also decide then on how and when to have the electrician come back to install the plug panels for the plugs.

The truck with the glass should arrive around 11.00 on Monday!

What interesting times! :) :)

Good choice in tool manufacturer. Don't forget to put on safety glasses before cutting!

Tank lifted onto the furniture sliders (they used glass vacuum handles) to lift each end and then I slid the sliders under the corners.

Being slid across floor to temporary location:

This solution worked out great. I was dreading spending a whole day removing all the aquascape, coral and fish and putting them in buckets, moving the tank and then reversing the process.

Here I just emptied half the tank, removed the Top up bucket from in the stand and then it was moved.

The bottom left of this picture shows the coiled up tubing that will bring RO/DI water to the stand and take changed saltwater away.

And in the corner you can see the dedicated circuit for the tank waiting to be installed.

At this point the truck with the glass arrived. The last bit of road that leads to our house is pretty steep and then there is a slope in the drive leading to the garden gate. They were desperately trying to make sure the trolley didn't just get away from them.

I was helping with lots of valuable instructions of course! :p

I had the glass positioned so that it was a straight line through the garden gate and into the side door of the living room. Made it a lot easier to maneuver the glass panes! ;)

Here they are discussing the tactics of getting the smallest (and lightest) of the 3m panes, the base, into place.
