I wish these zoas would come back to their former glory! It was my first ever coral purchase and I would hate to see them dwindle away... Does anyone have any advice but to hope and pray?

Update 8/3/22 -

Today was maintenance day on the tank! Before the lights turned on I fed a bunch of my coral with LRS Reef Frenzy which they seem to enjoy alot. Also I managed to spot my goby and shrimp during feeding so that was good. I even saw my emerald crab - he didn't want to get his photo taken but I was afraid he had died because I hadn't seen him in so long

Some pics of the coral eating:

1659546198959.png

Then I finally glued down the mushroom plug that kept falling down as well as another mushroom that fell down a couple weeks ago
1659546242630.png

I also did my routine maintenance of 20% WC, changed out the filter floss, cleaned the glass, and tested the tank.

Here are this weeks test results:
Salinity - 1.025 (Pretty much never changes)
Alk- 8.1 (Usually around this when I test, I dosed 2.5mL of Alk to bring it up for the week)
Calcium - 440
Magnesium - 1410

Probably should invest in a NO3/PO4 test kit in the near future - maybe I'll put it as an early christmas gift :p

All in all the test results look pretty good! I'm running out of Hanna Alk reagent so I will definitely have to pick some up before next week. I've heard many things about new reagents showing completely different results compared to the old one so hopefully that is not the case.

Some other tank updates - I think my return pump has some stuff in it or something because it is not running as fast as it used to. I am still dealing with digitate hydroids, bubble algae (thankfully so much better than it used to be but still present), as well as newly found flatworms so lots of fun pests! Also the zoas that are closed are still not happy - nothing new there. Finally, the digi that I stupidly broke into 3 pieces honestly looks like it's getting worse but I reallllly hope it makes a recovery over time - it has such amazing colors! But hey, atleast my tank is dinos free. Now for a bunch of photos!!

Montipora Digitata looking pretty bad Zoas still closed :(

Do you have some nutrients? Maybe why Zoas are tiny? Mine shrunk when I had a cleaner tank.

On another note, I haven't seen my goby in a while now...hope he's still alive :worried-face:
Haven’t gotten through all the updates yet, but I have the same fish and pistol shrimp in my EVO 13.5 and there are times I don’t see him for two weeks. Amazing that a fish can hide in a tank so small for that long. He always pops up again right about when I’m beginning to think he’s gone for good.

You better suck out that bubble algae before it takes over one day :○
Little late on that one! I have been through several infestations of bubble algae in the past. I just let it do its thing now. It is less noticeable with the bluer AI Prime lighting

Forreal! I can't imagine how hard it would be to spot in a bigger system

Guys my goby is acting really strange. He isn't really swimming but just laying in the sand and he seems disoriented - sometimes is like lying face first into the hole or on his side. What could this be?? He used to be extremely active always swimming out of the cave, now I sometimes don't even see him when I am putting food right infront of his cave. I'm worried for my little guy

Also an update on my digi - seems to be getting worse unfortunately

Do you have a glass or hard top? Is it possible he tried to jump or spooked and hit his head?
