Update 8/22/22 -

My goby is currently outside of his hole and looks reallly bad. He is breathing heavily and is on his side in the sand. Is there anything I can do to help him or is he just on his last leg? Appreciate any help

Unfortunately the goby looks at the point where there isn’t anything that can be done.
It may be worth a shot to move it into a sterile container of saltwater with an airstone, but again, it doesn’t look good.
Best thing to do at this point is try to figure out what went wrong.

I am really not sure what it could have been. I was away at camp for 2 weeks and ever since I got back the goby has been hiding but this is by far the worst I have seen him

Update 8/14/22 -

I unfortunately have to report that my goby did not make it. Not really sure what I could have done better but hopefully this is something that I can avoid in the future. This guy was my first saltwater fish I have ever kept so very sad to see him go. I definitely want to get something in the future to keep my shrimp company. But yeah that's that

Update 8/16/22 -

Tanks chugging along...need to do some tank maintenance later this week (the glass is dirty!)

Digi definitely deteriorating - I guess 5 gallons is hard to keep SPS in (Especially ones you break into pieces lol)

I also wanted to share this mod I did a while back to my heater chamber to allow it to get better flow. What I found was happening was that the heater would not have enough flow around it resulting in only the back chamber being the correct temperature and not the main display. The fix was actually quite simple. I put the heater underneath the pump so that the water has to flow by the heater thus making it always heat to the right temperature.
