Question! I recently just transferred all the fish, some hermits, snails and crabs into a 40g breeder tank from a 20g long. When I set up the 40g, I put in a new Fluval filter and let it run for a week before I put anything in it. Now, I use half fresh water and then I used most of the 20g long to fill up the other half and just added new water to the 20g so that can still run simultaneously. Now, in the 20g, I have a Fluval 207 canister with a protein skimmer still running because I have corals still in there that I was worried to transfer too soon even tho it’s technically a “water change” on the 40g since it’s half mature water and half new water.
Now, can I transfer the corals all right away or should I transfer them little by little? Maybe 2-3 a week? Once theyre all transferred, I’m going to put the canister on the 40g. I will have the canister and the filter running. I just wasn’t sure if I should wait to put the corals or do it slowly or if it doesn’t matter?
I have 5 zoa frags, 2 Duncan’s, 3 mushroom coral (Al different types), star polyp, bubble tip anemone (this is the only one I’m kinda worried about), a pagoda cup and a clove.
All levels on both tanks are perfect. I use the corallife light. Really love this light! I run mostly blue and some white throughout the day. Lights are on at 11am till 1030pm.

Did you transfer any existing live rock from the 20 to the 40 or is it all new rock?

Yes! Forgot to add that in. I used every rock and left just one in the 20g for some of the corals. Other corals I put on the sand while they wait to be transferred. I also used a lot of the sand in the 20 as well; live sand.

Right now, the 40g has two clown, flame hawk, 2 yellow tail blue damsels, a citron clown goby, psychedelic mandarin, regular mandarin goby, tri color blenny and scooter blenny. There is 5 bumblebee snails, 10 regular snails, 8 hermits (the rest are in the 20g, left some in for the corals) and I have 3 emerald crabs.

Also, I don’t know if it matters, but the fish and everything else has been in the 40 for 3 days now. I’m a heavy feeder. Brine and krill. After I feed, I pour in oceanMagik. The tank didn’t go through a cloudy phase. I was told if the 40 didn’t get cloudy after adding in so much stock at once and heavy feeding, then I can just add all the corals. They said it’s just a big water change if you look at it that way. I just wanted to make sure. My corals are doing so well. I’d hate to ruin it. Took some pics. I turned off the blue for two of the pics csuse the phone grabs more blue than it is, super annoying. but just so you have an idea of setup.

Should be fine for your coral. But I'd still take it slow, move over your least coveted coral first and make sure it responds well to the different lighting etc...

Okay. Which corals would you move first? These are the ones I have:

Neon green bubble tip anemone
4 zoa frags
Pagoda cup
Star polyp that has few tiny Zoas on it
Clove
Two Duncan’s (these two are sensitive)
Ricordea
Rhodactis
Red montipora capricornis
Jack o latern Leptoseris
