This is a great way to search products. I always prefer to support local sellers before out of state sellers. It can also save me a ton in shipping costs and lowers the risk factors of having livestock shipped. I assume it works with the R2R App?

The second best thing about this is I can easily screen my alerts for content vs. selling. Awesome!

Makes it easier for reefers so you don’t have to wait for a PM/reply about where they’re selling the item at, nice!

Great update!

You may not want to make the town a requirement though. Some people prefer their privacy and don't want the entire internet knowing where they live. Also, not all people are good and could potentially rob someone's house being it's not hard to locate an address if you already have the town and state. Just for security & privacy purposes.

Awesome idea as some of the users on here don't have their city or state under their avatar :) This will alleviate the "where are you located" posts

you bring up a good point... actually requiring city/state listings on profiles would actually help the most!

Not at this point. But that's coming to a R2R near you sooner than later!
Awesome! Cuz actually just listing the state isn't of any use to me... or probably most people actually (except this reefers in Maryland) looking to purchase something "locally". The other side of my State is 6 hrs away... there's still going to be a post asking what city, lol. Knowing which city something is in is more important to me. I'm on the border of several states, lol. Can't wait until the city function is active!

We have now added the requirement for all members to choose a "location thread prefix" when buy, selling or trading items on R2R.

Why? There are a couple reasons and are really pretty simple.

1. You can now see where an item is located and that opens up the ability to work with the seller or buyer to meet up in order to avoid shipping. It also allows you to see how far something is away from you and lets you decide if you are willing to chance having it shipped to you or take the chance shipping to someone father away from you.

2. As new items are added you will be able to search items by prefix or by location.

This change will only apply to all new marketplace items from this point forward. All old items will remain the same.

How do you add a prefix? It's simple!

1. When creating your thread you will see the "prefix" option here.

2. Click the drop down box and choose your location.

This is what it will look like in the forum listing once the prefix is added.

The system will not allow you to create a new thread without choosing a prefix.

Thank you!
Love this! Great idea!
