So I recently purchased a used Apex system off these forums. Correct me if I’m wrong but if the probes all show up just sitting in the box bone dry, doesn’t that render them useless? See pic below... The wmm module has something rattling around in it, I’m missing power cords, all in all pretty disappointed.

Anyways my main question, are all these probes supposed to stay wet?

As of my knowledge they are supposed to stay wet they are shipped wet for a reason.

Either way if you bought it used you are gunna want to buy new probes anyways and calibrate them so you know they are accurate most people replace them every year or 2 and some replace them even sooner then that

I think ph and orp need to be kept wet. The salinity can be cleaned by swishing in ro water and my last temp probe was only good for a year and a half. There’s a section of this forum dedicated to controllers and Neptune has a pretty helpful forum as swell. I found them super useful as I had a ton of learning to do when I bought mine a few years ago. I would soak them in rodi over night and then calibrate.

And by the way if you buy a used apex, the ph and orp cost around $150 so if they are dry and you have to get new ones, buying used isn’t worth it at all, unless you somehow get it for less than $600.

Also original owner has to unlink their apex from fusion or you can’t use the apex. Should’ve just bought new.

I went thru that wizard as well, all it did was end up telling me this apex was linked to someone else.

I got ph and orp probes with a used APEX system that were dry for a year plus and they worked just fine after a couple days in the tank and are still going strong close to a year later. I would try them first before assuming.

Went thru that link, you can’t continue past step6, link your apex to fusion. Stops there and says this apex is linked to someone else. There’s no way to delete someone

You need to download the apex utility to use web interface and perform complete reset threw it
