HI all, here are the pix of the coral I have now. Thankfully the water is clearing up. and yes we have a brittle starfish. My daughter just had to have him so we did the research and decided it would be OK to get him. I would appreciate others inputs about it though.

Nice beginner corals and love the octospawn. You said earlier that you had two feather dusters, but you lost one. What happened to it? They will sometimes shed the frilly cap and will grow a new one in about 2 weeks. I have 13 feathers. 2 original and the rest are babies.

Welcome to the forum. Nice setup. I'd recommend holding off for now on new coral and give what you have a month or two. Often times with new tanks, coral can start off looking great and slowly die over time. You may want to look into supplemental/target feeding for that starfish too.

Thank you :)
We are feeding him raw shrimp pcs. and no more coral for now. (except maybe a hammer if I find one at the good price) we are paying VERY close attention to the water chemistry so to catch anything going wrong fast. Also I am going to start a fuge for the tank too. that will hopefully help keep things in check.

Do you still have his tube? If you do gently squeeze along the length, if it is alive it will wiggle inside, you will feel it. Or if it is mush or feels empty its probably dead.

Oh then he might be deceased, or sometimes when stressed they will leave the tube and hide under a rock, only to emerge with a new tube and frilly cap. It might surprise you later. The fuge is a great idea. Are you going to put it in one of the chambers?

Awesome, make sure the chaeto is clean, meaning doesn't have any bad things living in it, getting clean, aiptasia, pest free chaeto is a must. I found out the hard way. Looks great. Tell your daughter I said good job. Keep us posted. ;Shamefullyembarrased
