Reef eScape in Fairfax has a nice setup. There’s also Capital Aquarium in Manassas and Blue Ribbon Koi (not just koi obviously) in Catharpin, just outside of Gainesville. All have different stuff, worth stopping in .

Thanks, Is it a good idea or even possible to try to find a good used 50 to 55 gallon tank? What would I have to look out for besides does it hold water.

Found myself a 75 gallon reef ready tank with most of the plumbing and a 20 gallon sump and even a bunch of live rock. So well on the way to getting something going. Thanks to someone I found on Wamas.org

Since I saved so much on the tank and sump. Is there a Apex system that wont break the bank that can help control the return pump (DC) and monitor the water for Amonia, Nitrate and nitrates and all? Does not have to be Apex but no way I can spend a thousand on a system.

#2 I would forget about the apex and master salifert and Hana test kits. Get yourself a ranco controler off amazon and wire in some Finnex heaters. Something titanium anyway.

Anyone know if I where to use a hybrid light is there anyway to control it to turn off and on and dim and stuff like that. On my fresh water tank I have the light slowly turn off and off each day. Hoping I could do the same with this, I see the more expensive version of aqualife is dim able but not sure if it is possible on the budget version.

I think putting it on a timer is your best bet. Most people, myself included, use the leds for ramping and put T5s on timer for 5-7 hours at peak time. My T5s run from 1-7pm for example. 6 hours. Which is peak time for my LED schedule.
