Hi all, hello from Oakland California!
Brand new to saltwater, brand new to reefing.
All of my experience is in freshwater, especially aquascaping and nano-fish.
Got this Nuvo 40 Fusion from my LFS 2 months ago, cycled it with FritZyme and have been stocking it very slowly. It's been quite the project for a social worker's budget, but I'm really trying to make sure I do it right and really invest.
Equipment:
Tank: Nuvo 40 Fusion
Skimmer: Tunze 9004
ATO: JBJ Nano ATO
Heater: Aquatop
Lights: Radion XR15 G5 Pro
Powerhead: Vortech MP10
Outflow: Vivid Creative Random Flow Generator
For the AIO back sump, left to right I have:
Chamber 1: IM Custom caddy with filter floss and bio-balls
Chamber 2: inTank refugium basket (Chaetomaxx and chaeto on the way)
middle chamber 3: stock pump, ATO, heater sensor
Chamber 4: Heater, bio-balls
Chamber 5: Skimmer and filter floss
The current residents:
Beavis- "Extreme Black Ice" (I think its just a buckshot frostbite) Ocellaris Clownfish
Butthead- Black Ice Ocellaris Clownfish
Bobby Hill- Yellow Clown Goby
I just purchased a frag of GSP from my LFS and have it adjusting in the corner, thinking I'm going grow it on the back of the tank. All the polyps are out and I'll be using it as a barometer to make sure the tank is ready for coral before I invest.
I wanted to make a scape with some interesting movement, so i went with an incomplete arch/swirl.
Here's some photos, doggo for comparison.
