Hello,

My tank is a 50 gallon newbie to saltwater, my wife and I have maintained our 150gallon freshwater for 2 years and this is the first venture into saltwater. My end goal is to move towards a reef tank slowly as I gain experience. I bought dry rocks and live sand used dechlorinated tap water and reef salt to start on the 10th.This tank is 1 week old my levels are all good 3ppm nitrate .1ppm phosphate and 8.2ph we used our old filters to cycle and my temp is at 77, my light cycle is 0600-0800 sunrise 0800-1800 sunlight 1600-2200 moonlight 2200-0600 off. Feeding frozen brine, used 3/4 of a bottle of copepods three days ago, and crushed flake foods. I have 2 clownfish and a scooter blenny which have been in the tank since 8/13 they are eating good and seem happy.

My question is I have growths on these dry rocks and I assume they are beneficial at this point, are they good for my tank or bad for my tank? And possibly identification would be appreciated, thanks.

In the second image the red spots look like Foraminiferans, harmless.
