Welcome to R2R and the wonderful folks, information and help.
CUC builds, I myself, not a fan on the crabs, working with only snails and waiting for my two red hermits to kill each other off. Just got some new snails from Reef cleaners. Everyone arrived alive. I like that they have prebuilt packages based on tank size. I was looking to add to what I had so I picked a pre sized pack based on how many more snail friends I wanted to add. My learning was, don't add all the CUC at the same time, they all will kick the bucket at about the same time....Now I stagger my add by a few months. Had my initial CUC die off and Nitrate spike my tank because I was lazy at the time not keeping up with my testing.....
Patience, it is the big word around here, Reefing is patience to cycle, to watch things grow, to keep your tank balanced.
I recommend to everyone joining to create a tank build thread.
1. You get to see where you have started and how much you have grown in this hobby.
2. We love pictures and to see what your doing with your tank.
3. It’s a great learning tool for all of us to see what works and doesn’t . We learn great stuff from each other.
Lastly the only bad question here is the one not asked...
