Hi everyone,

I've been pretty much a lurker here on R2R for the past 3yrs. I started in the hobby in 1999 when I was in the Philippines but was away from 2007-2018. I've kept various tanks from 5gal nanos to bigger tanks. I've kept FOWLR and reefs as well. My dream tank was supposed to be a 10x2x2 size but I really don't have the space for it. Prior to this build, my last tank was a 4x2x2 120gal mixed reef. I've always wanted to have larger fish including tangs, angels, and butterflies. So when I found a good deal in July 2020 on this one, I jumped on it. I've never had a build thread before. Part of it is not being too eloquent in writing but also have not had much time. I hope you guys like it and let me know of any comments.

Tank: Used old style Oceanic aquarium 7x2x2 with dual overflows
(it has the large glass brace in the middle which I hate but I like the dimensions otherwise, I'm a short guy and really can't have a tank deeper than 24")

Barebottom

Sump: Tsunami sump 36x16x16

Return Pump: Jebao DCP-8000

Flow: Vortech MP-40's x4

Skimmer: Vertex Omega 180

Lighting: AI HD52 x5 (12" from surface), have not checked par levels

Ca/Alk : Vertex RX-C 6D Calcium Reactor with a Kamoer FX-STP pump and CO2 regulator from Alan Le

ATO: Tunze 3155 with 10gal Tsunami reservoir

Dosing: Red Sea ABCD Trace Colors 30ml@ per week (Not really sure if it helps. But I've been using it for 3 years with my previous tank and has kept my ICP tests on point)

Feeding: LRS Reef Frenzy, Hikari mysis/brine shrimp, Hikari Seaweed Extreme, nori, flake

Controller: Apex gold, Ranco Temp controller

Heating/Cooling: BRS Titanium heater, several fans for evaporative cooling

UV: Pentair Smart UV 40W

Refugium: Pax Bellum Arid N18

Livestock: mixed reef
Corals: various sps - all grown from 1-2" frags (I'll post a list later), few Euphyllias, a couple gorgonians, "pest" palys and zoas, toadstools, nephthea, cespitularia
Inverts: small blue maxima clam, acro crabs, pair of Cleaner Shrimps, various snails, blue tuxedo urchin, blue leg hermits
Anemone: small H. magnifica

Fish: (all of these I've had at least 8 months, oldest is the Hippo Tang which I've had for at least 2 yrs now when he was 1.5")
Bellus Angel (mid transition from male to female)
Magnificent Foxface
White Tail Bristlemouth Tang
Hippo Tang
Yellow Tang
Orange Shoulder Tang
Convict Tang
Heniochus diphreutes x2 (I believe they are true diphreutes as they have 12 spines on their dorsal fins as compared to acuminatus which only have 11)
Springeri damselfish
Azure damsel
Royal Gramma
Longspine cardinalfish x2
Onyx clownfish pair
Carberryi anthias x5
Dispar anthias x1

Parameters: (Salifert, Hana test kits)
pH: 7.9-8.1
Temp: 79-80.5F
Alk: 8.7-8.9
Ca: 450
Mg: 1450
NO3: 15-20
Phos: 0.17

Goals:
Basically I wanted a low maintenance sps dominant mixed reef with a lot of fish :)

Here's a full tank shot. I will post more pictures under daylight and blue lights later. Thanks for reading.

July 2020 (immediately after the upgrade)
