Nitrate increases zooxanthellae population density and reduces skeletogenesis in corals.

To reduce nitrates in the aquarium:
-Do larger, more frequent water changes
-Reduce bioload and/or reduce feeding
-Carbon dosing: try a liquid nitrate remover or use biopellets in a media reactor
-Start a refugium or algae reactor
-Wet skimming

Test frequently for Nitrate on your ReefBot using Tropic Marin, Fauna Marin or API to keep the levels under control.

That's great! I read some articles and they said that plants can help to reduce nitrates in the tank. Is that true?
Plants such as mangrove or micro algae such as caulerpa and chaeto will lower or maintain your nutrients in controllable consecrations.

For your plants to remove nitrates efficiently from your fish tank, you need to look after them. So, regular trimming is required to remove dead and shed leaves, trim broken stems, and you also need to take out any plants that die.
If you leave dead plant material in the tank, it will quickly decompose, adding more ammonia and nitrite to the water and compromising the water quality.
