I started dosing nopox a few months ago (very very slowly) and it’s caused my tank to go absolutely haywire just in the last month or so. I’m dealing with cyano absolutely covering everything and parameters that don’t seem to match most other cyano outbreak situations.. along with all of my euphyllia bailing polyps over about a 2 week time period.

Everything has been stable except for nitrate slowly decreasing from around 50ppm to around 15ppm, and now alk going up because so much euphyllia has died..

Parameters are:
NO3 15
PO4 0.04
Alk 9.4
Temp 80.4
Salinity 1.025
Cal 430
Mag 1300
Tank is 11 months old

I’m dosing phytoplankton daily, tried dr Tim’s waste away, increasing flow, increasing water changes, using bio digest weekly. I have Chemiclean but seeing as I don’t really understand why I have it in the first place, I’m afraid it’ll just come right back. Also I have so much that I’m afraid I’ll nuke the fish with toxins. It’s seriously on every inch of the tank.

I don’t get it - please help!

So frustrating! One product helps with one problem, causes another. You have yet another product to solve the second problem, but fear sets in about causing a further chain reaction. I feel your pain. :(

Thanks, agreed, so frustrating and painful to watch! Trying to do the moonshine method but so far I’m failing miserably and killing everything. Just wish I could figure out the issue!

Don’t use bottled junk. Nothing but problems and your always chasing the dragon.at this point use the chemiclean to rid the cyano then wait the inevitable turf algae, mange that naturally which will take a few weeks and then back to normal.
