Backstory....Since cycling back in December, I've had pretty high Nitrates...and 'normal' phosphates. I have a RR525xl - approx 125 total water volume. After cycling and water changes, my nitrates got stuck at 50ppm. So...I added a fuge with chaeto. It is growing well and I have to harvest every couple of weeks - but the nitrates didn't budge. I cut down my feeding to once a day - and only what the fish would eat in a couple of minutes - but the nitrates didn't budge. So, kind of as a last resort - 6 weeks ago I decided to try NOPOX. I started with half dose (7.5 ml), and have slowly ramped up to 14ml. I have my apex dos dosing during the day. My Nitrates dropped from 50 to 25 about a week and a half ago, but have not budged since. I am seeing a very small amount of Cyano in some low flow areas, but it doesn't seem to be spreading. P04 is holding steady - between .03-.08 (Hanna ULR). Corals are just ok...Not really growing fast, but not dying either. Do I keep upping the NOPOX till it drops some more? Or leave it and wait and see. No visible algae growing in main tank - but I also have some tangs that keep it pretty clean. I do have a small amount of hair algae growing where my fuge light spills over.
