Hi all,

I got a purple anemone on Thursday (6th May) and I am not sure he is ok.

I did the drip method to introduce him to the tank. The first day he rolled around the tank looking for a spot and looking quite nice (first Pic).

The next day he found a spot and he attached, not the greatest spot for us to view as it was against the glass in the sand facing towards the back of the tank.
At this point the tentacles were out a bit but not as much as the first image, then tonight he is all the way in hoping this is normal night behaviour?

Did I want to check if my light were also enough, I have two t5 54 watts (one blue one white) and two Kessil A80 Tune Blue lights at 100%?

Beautiful nem. He may move again yet. He will want to find the right flow and a comfy spot. Did you ramp the lighting up slowly to acclimate it to lighting or did you drip him and drop him?

Thanks all, think I was just a little over-worried
He has stayed in his spot and opens up nicely now and looks really happy, now if I could just get the clownfish to host it or even realize he is there

Phosphate levels 0.003 mg/l.
8.33pH
Free Ammonia 0.001ppm
Alkalinity is 10.9 dkH
Nitrite 7ppb (0.007ppm)
Salinity 1.025
Nitrate 0.25mg/l
Magnesium 1500mg/l
Looks like your tank isn't fully cycled yet. Generally you want to want to hold off on nems until the tank is a bit older. Keep up with your water changes to try and keep ammonia and nitrite down and hopefully it makes it.

hmm that could be interesting as I only have about 1" of sand
Instead of having a level sand bed, put some rocks to form a little wall in the corner that you Nem is and fill it up with sand to give it 4-5 inches. This is how I did it for my LTA.

Another trick for an lta.

4” piece of pvc with a cap at one end and a 45 at the other end. Pipe size should be about the size of the foot (little bigger is preferred). Put lta foot in pipe and they typically stay put, al long as the light and flow isn’t blasting it. Works great for shallow sand beds.

45 allows the nem to face upwards with little effort. You can lay the pipe down flat and the 45 directs the nem upwards. If that makes sense.
