FYI, trim height of 1.55” is just above the silicone seam with 6mm neoprene. DBE49F6B-F19A-4C22-981D-42ECEADA7196.jpeg

I was considering my perfect tank size to be 36x24x18" tall. I like the extra 6" in length you have it looks really well proportioned.

Quick question on the stand. Are the doors hinged or removable panels? I have build two stands for my freshwater tanks. One is hinged and one has removable panel doors that slide into grooves. I live the ability to remove the doors completely and work on the innards of the tank.

They are soft close Euro hinges that allow you to pop the doors off in two seconds.

Made this in three pieces for modularity, ease of installation/potential removal. Space left for Profilux 4. It's going to be groovy lit up at night.

Next day off I have will result in my wife being irritable as the dog spreads little bits of white acrylic throughout the house. I'm now in a rush as I have a special anemone waiting for me.

I'm working up a stocking list and she keeps demanding her obsession: garden eels, lol. Sorry, babe.

That is pretty neat, I'm going to build something similar for my controller as well since it is all a little haphazard right now and my cabinet is open to the living room.

Like the cabinet! I wish I had room for something that size. I am having to get creative with mine. :)

What are you going to use for sump? What was RS build time?

It was about a year. Ordered Fall of 2015. I took as long for the stand--wanted to have exact measurements for the trim and learned wood working through trial and error.

I'm going to use 3/8" cast acrylic and Weld-on #3 for the sump. I like to build stuff--it keeps me off the streets.

Finished the sump. Water flows into the refugium, down the front of the divider, forward along the bottom, up the front and then back into the skimmer chamber, rolling the chaeto. (Update: 90 degree elbows added to push flow across surface instead which worked better in practice). The drain pipes also will prevent the Chaeto roll from catching on the edge of the divider. Supplements will drop directly on the edge of the divider to enhance mixing. Lids are tight to reduce humidity in the stand. Also, my Tunze skimmer will fit completely within the sump.
