Hi!
I need to change my canister filter and Im not sure which one is the best. I'm on budget and I can't spend more than 110 pounds at the moment.
I found two options Oase FiltoSmart Thermo External Filters and fluval 107 canister, my tank is mixed reef, one clown, one randal goby, red striped goby.
It's only 40 lt tank. I've read something about Oase leaking, but some people have it for years and didn't happened.
Could you give me some suggestions even in different brands?

I’ve heard great things about both brands. On the freahwater side anyhow. It’s rare to use a canister for a salt tank. Sicce are supposed to be fantastic and I know from experience eheims are also. Any of those would be fine. The Oase does have the benefit of the heater though. I’m thinking of one for a smaller (freahwater) setup. Between that and the Sicce.

I'm already running canister filter since beginning because I don't have space for sump. I also don't have any skimmer or other equipments, only light and wave pump and is going very good even with SPS.
The heater rin Oase I heard it's not enough and most of the time doesn't keep the temperature up to 24 degrees C. In the other hand it is good because you can change the filtration inside as you like while Fluval it's standard with that sponges. Im confused because I'm worried for leaking

I’ve personally never heard of them leaking, but I’ve not selves deep enough. If you’re looking for customization, go with sicce. They are strong and silent, and well made. I know the brand is highly regarded on both sides of the hobby.

I’ve also heard the heaters in Oase are a bit fiddly. You have to basically ignore the numbers on the heater itself and set per tank temp.

Never heard about Sicce. Just having a look now and it's cheaper than the other two. Thank you
