As best as I can measure, I'd say 3 & 11/16"
They use a proprietary 4" sock so a standard 4" sock ring is just a pinch to large to sit flush in their openings.

"The outside flange diameter is 4" to accommodate the Red Sea Sumps"
Then I think your cups should fit exactly. Here's a photo of the sock opening which shows the outside lip to be exactly 4", maybe 4 and 1/16"
Do you think your cups would sit fine in these IceCap sump sock openings?

I'm thinking about getting 3 of these for my sump. Anyone have any feedback on these yet? The thought of being able to forget about filter socks and just replacing the filter media sounds great.

They're great. Not all fit the 4" openings and expect a little noise when using from water movement into cups

I love mine, much better than using filter socks. Built well, I use mine with floss and sometimes add a small carbon bag

Just ordered 4 for my reefer 750xxl. Plan on using cheap poly fil to help clean my tank water. Used the socks once and threw them away.
