Problem here is it's a hang on variety, which would entail one heck of a mess. Even with little to zero air in the venturi....thoughts? Another few days with it off and powerhead toward surface?
Thanks all.

If the skimmer has a drain fitting then I like to run the drain into a bucket and then keep dumping the bucket until the skimmer calms down. This may take a couple hours but after a dump or two the skimmer usually goes back to normal.

My skimmer has a hose that I can use to drain it... post chemi-clean I turned off my ATO a few hours, put the hose in a bucket and let it drain a couple hours.

it was slightly annoying as I constantly had to top off with salt water but it didn’t take too long.

(also, did a pretty large water change right before the skimmer nonsense)
