Real happy with the Melamine liner for the pocket doors, the vinyl coating should make for an easy wipe down when needed!

Nothing dramatic happened this week :( did a water change on the Live Rock, got more cabinet faces sanded and stained made a few panels and the support for the granite beer ledge. I mostly made lots of measurements for the end fuge and electronics cabinet, which lead to sketches and CAD drawings and a few adult beverages. It should be pretty straight forward but pocket doors and pivot hinges aren’t normal components of a tank cabinet! I hope to have all the base cabinet work finished by Monday I pick up the granite beer ledge on Tuesday. We Should be milling the sump on Wednesday, he said my CAD files were good to go and would clear out some time for my job.

I am running out of clamps clamping the Melinene to the back of the panels proves challenging but there is always a way! Bring out the old trusted bucket of mud!

Rain day so no wood work while its wet out :( I mostly worked on final sump design and cut list for partitions. here is the partition for the frag section, with a big emergency overflow from the skimmer section inlet from the LR and fuge sections and the lower is the drain to the reactor/pump section. I'm planning on an average water level around 11 inches.

Sun came out this afternoon so I got an other canopy door sanded and stained, still have to add the Melamine backing to it and frame up the rest of the canopy. It’s going to be raining for the next few days so it will probably be more sump work for a few days.

I have been trying to keep my rock in good health while doing my mini cook, with loads of flow and water changes additions of bacteria and pods and live phyto. I want to keep the pod population up for the big switch. Three tubs of rock a 125 sump and an old 44 gal fuge/current tank with a hungry possum wrasse could use all the help they can get. minimum light and feeding, heavy sediment filtration cant be easy on the inhabitants, I have dosed Algae Barn EcoPods and 5280 Pods in the past but I picked up some Tigger Pods at the LFS today and they look great I dosed all the containers and started a culture to see if I can raise some.

Sump is ready and for some custom mill work and some new parts, once the frag tank partition and other partitions are installed it all will be milled down another inch so the top fits perfectly! It should come in at 19.5 tall.

Oh my it’s been a while since I have done any acrylic work, this paper will be a ***** to get off! The nice part about 10 year old + acrylic is it’s a full 3/8 not some metric kinda thick junk! Still have 2 more pieces to cut but it will be better when a few are installed and I can get a better measurement.

Not much happened today. I checked out some overpriced corals at a LFS, not that they weren’t fantastic pieces but dang a small child in trade is over the top! I did pick up the granite for the beer ledge. Better get rolling on finishing the stand!

The last aspect of the base of the stand was the panel to the left of the shutter doors. Access to this part of the stand was fairly important and, other than reaching across a 30 inch sump, a door of some sort would be optimal,! A hinged door would work but would still restrict access. The plan originally was for the sump to extend beyond the tank and this section was where the old overflow was and would be a prefect place for the fleece roller! I shouldn’t need access but for every other month or so, and would be the only easy access point to the fleece roller. I just wanted to slide the panel out of the way ...... Pocket Door was the answer the problem was shoving a 13’” door into a spot that is only 7 inches! I found a set of 6’”heavy drawer slides that would get me half way there, but I needed more room :(

You should check out our Phyto-Feast. It is 20 times as concentrated as any of our competitors. Much more economical and is found in local fish stores.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out. Thanks for supporting your LFS!

Lots has been happening and I’m so excited! My FIL came up and gave me a hand! Stand leveled shimmed and in place. Cabinet faces all square, level, plumb, glued and screwed!

The other side just needs a little work in the morning and it will be finished! If I can get help lifting the tank off foam put down and tank put back I'll be filling it with water in the afternoon!

It looks so good I’m rethinking the canopy, and after the canopy is half finished I don't think I'm going to have one

LOOK AT THAT BEAUTY!!

Really enjoyed following along with the stand building/staining and truly it looks amazing. The tank is beautiful and I think it makes that space that much more amazing! Keep us updated for sure, and I would second any @reefnutrition product I love them!
