Im mortified, sad, and depressed, since I've starting out on my jounrey of fighting ostreopsis dinos.

It was just so unexpected. Tank transfer from redsea to waterbox to avoid seam failures, replaced live sand with crushed coral. Re-used 80% of teh tank water and all of the gulf live rock.

Somehow I went from ~12 nitrate and .4 phos, to bottomed out, and poof, this nightmare. After my meeting right now I'll go set up dosing for neonitr/neophos and microbacter7, and maybe in a few days we'll start to see improvements, if not, i'll bite the bullet on a pentair UV setup.

I’m glad that velvet is over and new fish finally stopped dying! Oh btw: can finally frag some corals for relatives over weekend - saw the smiles and excitement from them made this reefing journey totally worth it!

Glad you were able to overcome velvet! How did you go about getting rid of it?

I've got my first new growth on my corals and I'm say I'm somewhere around a candy cane head splitting!
