Is when you spend so much time and effort to grow some really cool pieces. What slight color pop and PE you get is so intrinsically awesome, but...

when someone comes over and looks at the tank, they gush over the 25 dollar torch, lol.
Always. What people don’t realize is how small an acro colony typically is. They think it’ll be three feet across when in reality, it’s only three inches.

It’s always something like “Why isn’t Nemo in his anemone?” *points to corky finger gorgonian* and I’m just like

Hey!
Your tank looks like my Jimmy Hendricks posters.

The sad part is a frag use to be 3 inches.
Now it's called a colony.
That’s so true. What’s deemed “success” in this hobby is merely keeping acros alive. Few can do that and even fewer can make them grow quickly. It’s why the largest pieces we see for sale or trade are so tiny. Knowing what I know now, I’d say my growth rate over the past year isn’t anywhere near what I’ve figured out and implemented. I’d honestly say my acro’s growth rate has at least tripled or quadrupled. The sad part is, I had growth that’s typical of the community.
