swap my versa top off for a mesh top,
re-plumb my drains into the new sump setup,
change my powerheads to some nice eFlux wavemakers
add a little more sand
get my radion on an RMS mount

Lol, how can I upgrade Better Half's interest in the hobby?

That would pave the way for permanent supports under the joists in the crawlspace and a 220 over them. [emoji846][emoji23]

This hobby is always evolving and changing. Equipment changes, theories and methods change, our minds change and so on!

What is one thing you would upgrade or change right now if you could?

Tell us why!

Swapping my acrylic tank for a glass tank (April’s project). I use Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and still live in constant fear of adding even more scratches to that tank. I think an elf could prance by in the middle of the night, crop dust the tank and the magical elven backside wind would scratch it.

A Sump. I want a sump. I just want to change my tank for one with a sump to hide all the equipment, make maintenance easier and let me have a refugium. I don’t need a bigger tank or more water volume, I just want a sump.

So yeah, a sump. [emoji23][emoji12]

After the build I would have made the stand taller with waterproof paint in the inside and a side cabinet to hide my other equipment including my ATO. I would have also drilled my rocks so I could connect them with acrylic rods.

Two main things: 1) peristaltic pump to better control my calcium reactor, 2) larger sump as I never upgraded that when I went from 120 to 300 gal display. Will require a bit of woodwork though and that was my reason for leaving it.

I mostly kept the same equipment when I moved up from a 265 display to my current 450. While in some cases that was fine, a burgeoning fish load has outpaced my nutrient export systems …. so upgrading that is on the menu. I have already built and seeded a larger ATS, I have bought and subsequently modified a larger skimmer to be installed in due course and I am in the process of adding in tank flow. The vortech MP60 is my flow-device-of-choice, so I'll be adding one more to replace the WAV pumps I currently use. That will give me two MP60 on each end of the tank, and a few other pumps on the rear overflow. There's nothing significantly wrong with the WAV, but the buzzing cords is annoying and I prefer the stronger, broader flow from the vortech. That's it!

I would like to change my lights. Right now I have SB reeflights 32 in over my reefer 350 but I think they might be too strong and I would like to change the spectrum ( a little too white for my liking) . I want to upgrade to AI but they Out of my price range for now.

I thought I was all done, but after seeing the picture in the first post of this thread, I guess I need a dedicated touchscreen monitor for my Apex controller mounted next to my system!!!

I'd like a new skimmer, mine works OK but is so finicky. Tough to keep dialed in. I'd also go a tiny bit bigger...
