My not quite LFS posted on FB that they were putting in an ORA order. I asked them if they could do a certain price and they sent an invoice :D

I'll be picking it up sometime in the next week or so depending on when their order comes in and my days off of work because I'll be driving 2 hours each way plus traffic to get it.

I just grabbed one from the LFS. They asked if I wanted one last week but I declined. Then I stopped by on my lunch break today and see 2 sitting in one of their tanks so of course I ended up getting one. Only $165 so I had no choice. Haven’t got it home yet but I don’t see nearly as many of the blue eyes as some of yours seem to have. I’m hoping it’s just because it wasn’t totally open in the stores tank yet.

Post picture when you get it

Still not quite fully open but seems to be doing well. It already attached to the rock. Looking now it does have more of the blue eyes than I thought. I can’t get a good enough pic to show them. My lights don’t seem to bring out the bright blue on the eyes like some peoples seem to. In my tank the eyes look more of a dark blue. So far I’m just happy my regal angels haven’t decided to dine on it.

We received our gigas clam from Liveaquaria two days ago. It arrived in rather rough conditions. It measures 2.75”. We asked unique color, bluish or purplish mantle with more spots. We thought ORA has all same color of mantles, gold. We were shocked when she opened. I would say its mantle is purplish brown.

Can you take a pic with the blue lights turned off or with a filter?

To my naked eye the gigas looks purple brown. The iPhone turns it a-little darker than it is. I’m not trying to get options on if the clam is purple. Just wondering if anyone else had and other colors other than gold?

Yes,
Are you happy with the colors?

Yes I’m very happy with the color of the clam. Just worried about if it will survive. The first night I thought I would loss her over night. She was gaping wide open. Maybe the color is just from the stress hard to say.

Anyone keep these clams with ozone? If so what’s your ORP readings?

Not trying to debate. I’d just like to see a good picture so I can search for a similar one.

Anyone have experience using ozone with Gigas? What’s your ORP reading?
