Orange stuff at the centre of hammer coral.

Hi Expert, I am new to hammer coral. While doing the normal inspection realised orange coloured stuff at the center/mouth part of the coral.

Is this normal?

Thanks for the help... but sponges will grow over time right. I never seen the stuff there before.
Must’ve been with it when you got it. If it’s smothering the hammer you can take it off. Could move it to its own spot and it might grow. They’re good natural filtration and cool!

Is this normal?
Just an update.. I didn't do anything as i am not very sure what it is.. this morning I can still see the orange slime like thingy on the coral but much smaller in size.

The coral seems OK, didn't notice any strange reactions.

An update.. I am not very sure what it was but not seeing it anymore and the coral seems happy. Thanks everyone.
