Good morning, Team Styx and Happy Sunday! Today's plans include a sizeable WC, corraline / glass scraping, sandbed maintenance, replacing two (2) Apex optical sensors in the sump (this set failed after only 3 weeks <SMDH>), nuking some aips, and giving all powerheads, nori clips, and feeding stations a bath in citric acid. Oh, but first, it's time to do the nasty:

waiting for the coffee to brew here and NOT cleaning filter socks since I do not have them...so I can't feel your pain...
I'm on cup #3. This one is Wild Mountain Blueberry from Green Mountain. After this, I have to switch to half-caff.

I just turn them inside out and throw them in the washing machine.

I give a good rinse under the sprayer first, then do the same. I know that most people just toss 'em in the washer, but I don't like all the gunk going in there.

spent all day shopping for stack stone for the patio wall and pillar light boxes I am going to build. and it just does not give me the feeling of rustic New Orleans bars,,,,metal, wood and brick so we going with brick...so cool they make these 1/2 bricks on sheets like tile...will not take me as long to do..

i kinda like that i dont have filter socks to clean... my filter does a really good job and i only have to do a light rinse of the material every month. those things look nasty
Imagine all of that settling into my sump...

i really dont have any crap at the bottom of my filter because right where the filter sucks in water i have sponges and all the other material stays super clean! it takes out all the poop and i just throw them away because they are like 1.50 for a 3 pack!
