I wish I could get nice sized colonies in the time many other reefers get theirs. I mean I’ve seen some people with 2’ acropora colonies from 1” frags that only took… 3-4 years to grow!
My acros would probably take 3-4 years to even get 1’ across.

This hammer is I believe a year old (Will check in my build thread), I bought it at 2 heads and now I have I believe 7 heads if we include the ones splitting. I’m still trying to get it to show the full PE it used to show (Flow for this guy and several SPS is a pain to create).
It's strange how one Coral will grow well in one system then move a piece to a similar system and it won't develop nearly as quickly.

my hammer looks happiest at peak daylight hours, I have my flow from the mp 60s running reef crest at full power water movement is constantly changing.

Since I had a decent reaction to bringing outside air into the beckett on the MRC skimmer I decided to add an additional line to the second beckett pH is now stable at 8.13

I have also not noticed any temperature change at all even with 95° Florida weather.

I wonder how this modification will react if let's say I have 30 friends to the house for a club meeting?

Btw did the blue mesh you added make much of a difference?
If you mean did the mesh change the color spectrum, no it didn't affect the color spectrum it is meant for reducing the intensity of the sunlight. I use it during acclamation, so I can ramp up the intensity for anything new that's added to the system.

Is that what sunset looks like in the tank?

Also, have you ever had coral spawning events occur?
Yeah that was just after sunset just a little past 8pm. None that I've seen, with working nights I don't see a lot of what goes on in the evening. I need to setup a time-lapse camera. Here is a closer look at Sunday sunset time 8:10pm

That's the beauty of the angular Sun dome tubes as long as there is light in the sky the sun domes will pick it up.

Today's featured fish on our natural sunlit Reef is our Bluestripe Butterflyfish "Sophia" it's a species of butterflyfish found in the waters surrounding the Hawaiian Islands. The fish is endemic to Hawaii where it is common on shallow water reefs.

Did you get her when hawaii was open?
Bluestripes are stunning in photos but even more so in person.

Hi my name is Tod, I am a Foxface Rabbitfish I'm enjoying my life on our natural sunlit Reef I like playing with my friends grazing algae on the live rock and power heads.

My dorsal spines contain venom so be careful when putting your hand in the tank not to startle me, just know I'm not trying to hurt you you.

Love foxfaces!
I will say, thick gloves will help with this genus. I have a whole story on the time I had to save my foxface in my 4’ tank’s thread.

After being bit several times and sideswiped by my Sohal Surgeon I've made it a point to always wear mid forearm nitrile gloves whenever I stick my hands in the tank now.

Let's hear the story about the Foxface.
