Oh my gosh I can't believe I've been chosen for today's fish of the day I feel honored to be here and I love living on our natural sunlit Reef.

I'm Bruce a Melanurus Wrasse also known as a Hoeven's Wrasse.

I spend my days protecting corals and clams I enjoy eating fire worms, wild shrimp, tube worms, and flat worms and sometimes if my takemates allow me I'll even eat a parasite off of them.

I also enjoy a vitamin enriched diet consisting of mysis, brine shrimp and a high quality marine flake.

Halichoeres melanurus is a beautiful wrasse and yours is a true stunner showing quite literally those natural colours you’d find on one in the wild.

Thank you, sir! Hey, on a different note did you make it to the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert? I was glued to the screen waiting to see Geddy and Alex of Rush it was so great to see them playing again. Last show was in California in 2015

Not the way I wanted to start my Saturday morning walking to the garage and see my Reeflo Hammerhead Gold pump leaking.

I thought it was going to be a 1 2 3 job pop out the old seal put in the new seal started back up. Well... Didn't quite go well as planned, got all my parts out pump disconnected went to pop out the seal and noticed the replacement seal I have is for a Super Dart Gold.

I think oh crap what am I going to do now? Grab the wet sandpaper and give the seals a touch up of some 5,000 grit.

Reassembled fingers crossed...

No leaks!

Not too shabby for 11 years of continuous use. Your reef is beautiful!
Thank you so much!

I've replaced the seals a couple times over the years on all of my Reeflo pumps but the motors have been rock solid for 11 years.

Looks like I will be calling Reeflo on Monday to place an order for new seals. Think I might even replace the motor bearings, it's probably time.

Have you ever tried an Imperator in the tank? Or even any Angels?

Watching the fish change right before your eyes under the intense sunlight never gets old. They all seem to migrate to the spotlight areas wanting to show off!

Today's fish of the day on our Natural Sun-lit Reef is a female Japanese Swallowtail Angel her name is 'Cecilia'

I am a good reef dweller, and will not nip at stony and soft corals.

Please include meaty foods with supplemental algae in my diet I really love enriched mysis shrimp, and brine shrimp.

Genicanthus melanospilos is my favourite species of Genicanthus alongside the “sister” species of Semifasciatus.
This is my reverting (sub) male

That's a beautiful fish, I've been trying to find a male to introduce. I had one for a while but it died a few years ago.

I’d honestly get a smaller female - your established female will most likely end up transitioning.
I would love to get my male back to his full colours.
