Welcome to my build! First, a little backstory. I finished my masters in anesthesia a few month ago and was planning on building my dream tank. But with family and new house and student loans I knew this was going to have to wait. Thought about downgrading to a Red Sea 450 but still was to much. I ran an IM 25 lagoon all through school and had great success. So I decided to build a new stand for the nano lagoon. I stumbled across the Tideline 65 and showed it to my wife, with puppy dog eyes, and she said just buy it already. So quick like a flash I called my LFS here in Shreveport Louisiana, who is a distributor for these, and placed my order!! Two weeks later I had my tank at home and waiting for the stand to finish being built!

I have been ordering rocks and all the other things I would need and will post the haul from BRS later. I ultimately decided to use the nano lagoon as a coral quarantine since I have all the equipment and just built a stand for it. Thanks for reading!! Will be a slow build because between work in a hospital and three kids and wife I get to work on it in spurts!

Just finished the stand that I started for my IM 25 lagoon. I started the stand before I got the go ahead to order the Tideline. I’m planning on now using the lagoon and all the equipment for coral QT before going into the Tideline. All the equipment and extras have arrived for the Tideline.
Lights: noopsyche k7 viii pro Wi-Fi x2
Pumps: stock for now
Flow: jebao slw-20 x2. Eventually add two smaller on the back wall
Heater: BRS 200 watt
Fuge section: build fuge basket w/ cheatomax 18watt
Controller: apex, will add trident and DOS when the time comes.
stand: similar build to lagoon stand.

here’s a pic of the stand for the small tank

Congrats on receiving your Masters and a slick looking AIO!
Thanks Variant. Was a long time coming going back to school. Been a nurse since 2009 and going back to school with three daughters 8,6,5 was daunting but they and my wife supported me through the hardest 3 years of my life. But totally worth it!

Got the stand complete for my quarantine tank and placed the 25 lagoon to see how it looks. It appears that the center of my cabinet too is slightly higher than the corners. Approximately 1/8” in the corners. Would a leveling mat or stacked yoga mats be able to make up for the gap?

You can see the gap in the picture.

Took a belt sander to the top with a square to even put any hump in the top. Yoga mat will cover any remaining gap. Started making the cuts in the plywood for the stand for the Tideline. Being much more careful than I already was to make sure everything is as square as possible.

Got the back and sides for the new stand cut yesterday evening. Been a full day with kids stuff today. Hopefully get some more work done on it tomorrow. I’m dying to get this thing out of my garage and into its final home!

Got to finally start assembling what I had cut for the stand.

Will add a center support from the bottom to the top to support the sheet for the top.

So with all the talk about stands I realized I never talked about what I’m planning for this tank! So here we go.

lighting: noopsyche k7 pro vIII (Wi-Fi) x2 for now.

Flow: jebao owm 30 x2 on side walls. Potential the smaller 5’s on rear wall

heater: BRS 200 watt titanium controlled via apex

ATO: apex optical sensors and see how it works

controller: apex a3 w/ trident

dosing: DOS

return pumps: stock to start and see how they run. Used jebao dc’s with great results before

filtration: stock socks. Looking to 3D print floss holders

skimmer: aquamax was-1. Will

fuge: cheatomax 18 watt on back glass

sand: Fiji pink dry sand

Livestock:

CUC: will build pack from reef cleaners

Tomini tang
Melanarus wrasse
Leopard wrasse
Yellow coris wrasse
Exquisite Fairy wrasse
Clown pair
Cherub angel
YWG/pistol shrimp

corals: have fallen back in love with zoas. Planning on building three separate NSA islands. One for zoas. One potentially for scans and the center to hopefully have some acros along the top.

as there are not many aftermarket add ons for this tank I’m dabbling with the idea of getting a 3D printer to start learning to develop and build my own parts. I love to tinker with things and this may get my three daughters a little more involved with the tank.

Well, have made some slow progress! At least it’s a step in the right direction. Got my RO storage plumbed and setup and got my old IM lagoon tank up and running to use as coral quarantine.

now for the big progress! Got my stand for the Tideline finished and the tank on and leveled.

Also, Got my dream package from BRS today. Been wanting an apex forever and finally pulled the trigger when they announced their Black Friday sale.

Went ahead and setup up my new Wi-Fi noopsych K7’s just to see how they look. Love them so far!! Next step is to finish breaking apart another 30 or so pounds of rock to form my aquascape. Then I can start hooking up the apex. Going to add two jebao MLW-20’s to the left and right glass and one MLW-10 to the back wall. Cut out a section of the black vinyl on the back wall to place a cheatomax fuge light and will build a fuge basket out of acrylic. Contemplating adding AWC but that will come after I start to get the apex programming down! So happy this tank is on the stand! It’s been sitting in my garage for the last 3 months waiting for this day!!

Got the scape finished and added with sand. Next step is to get my controller board mounted in the stand. Have the three jebao Powerheads coming tomorrow. And placed an order for media cups from rhino reef! Can’t wait to get these in and be able to ditch the filter socks.
