I'm just gonna say it: tangs. You almost need to have them perform a short series of basic survival techniques before taking them home. Because if there's one type of fish that keeps coming up with new and bizarre ways to die - it's tangs.

Tangs and FoxFace are hardy, fat healthy and beautiful if you even 1/2 way provide them with what they needed to thrive. I am sorry taht you cannot get your tangs to do well.

Never owned one actually. My foxes, in my opinion are easier, prettier, and less risky. Along with that Tangs just aren’t as pretty as wrasses and angels to me. Maybe some tangs are fine but I see too many dead ones at the LFS. Also I’m trying for fully peaceful tanks. All those reasons combined mean I've had no will to add a Tang to a tank.

I mean… Yes but they’re dang well rare over here!
Would die for a Genicanthus personatus female, just I’m not willing to drop a house for it.

Oops… I didn’t mean to make it quite so long so I’ll stop here
After extensively going through this list I've come to a few conclusions:
  1. I wasted an evening
  2. Awwwwwww Chelmon mulleri!! I had no idea that the gaudy, show off Chelmon rostratus had a humble cousin! (I apologize for my random dislike of CBBs. Not even I understand it.)
  3. Hemitaurichthys thompsoni?? Who's overrating that? That is unquestionably ugly!
  4. Manoichthys paranox & Manoichthys splendens; stop making up fish!
  5. You only managed to offend me twice!!

I knew I misspelt something haha.
Knowing scientific names isn’t always great especially when it’s 9pm.

Chelmon mulleri is nice I will agree but they’re riskier than Chelmon rostratum IME.
Great to hear I only offended you twice haha. I thought with those tangs I’d be getting questioned a lot more!

i cannot think of any over rated fish, but there are plenty of overpriced ones.
I love my clowns, who have never bitten me, my sixline who never gave me any trouble, my 7 green chromis who spawn regurlarly, my Eibli angel who is not very common but active, my firefish which stay out all the time and even my pajama cardinal who are always there. I also love my hippo, so blue, but it does have a tendency to get itch.
