Hello,
I currently have a lid on my display tank (30 gallon) and my sump has no lid (10 gallon). If I add a lid to the sump would the protein skimmer provide enough oxygen to keep everything happy?
The lid on my DT is glass and has no openings. The sump lid would have cutouts for the protein skimmer and return/drain lines. The protein skimmer i have is a Coralife 65 so I think it is slightly oversized for my system.
I am not concerned with heat build up, just want to make sure I am getting enough oxygen in the water. The openings in the sump lid would still allow airflow in the sump area but if I close off 85% of the area, I do think less water would evaporate (which is the goal).
Thanks,
Tod
