Hello,
No. As as I know, all BBK have two inputs in the pump: one for air and another for ozone.
I have the Mini BBK.
Don’t worry.
And even if it is only one... not running the ozone won’t block the air from the pump.

By the way, check the picture of the double cone: two tubs: white and red connected to the pump. The red one is for ozone.
Cheers!

Just to be sure, you do have two inputs, right? One for air and another for Ozone

Hi,
Just to be sure, I’m referring to the skimmer pump RD3: two inputs, correct?
If you plug into the ozone input from the RD3, the fact of ozone being on or off, shouldn’t shutdowm the air intake of the skimmer.
I don’t think indeed the noise is normal... I would expect dead silent.

Hi David,
I read again carefully the whole topic... now I‘m a bit confused.

You mentioned that the BBK has only one air input, which is strange. All BBK pumps contains two air inputs.

In your specific case, it would be the red tube (see the picture below)
If the red tube is closed, open or attached to an ozone ... should not matter or change the air or/and performance of the skimmer. Meaning that bubbles will keep going inside, due to the second larger tube (transparent).
Can you confirm that? Is that working properly?

Regarding the noise of the ozone, it is a bit hard to say. I used in the past a different brand and it was dead silent.
