So it’s been 4 months. Most important, they haven’t been eaten, my primary concern. Despite having sub adult coloration, they are clearly a pair. They no longer bicker, they commonly eat together and often swim together with the smaller following the larger. I’m super happy with them. They are finally eating pellet food and I give them a head of romaine every other day, with 4 sheets of nori. They eat all of the green away every time. I’m hoping to see them to adulthood as a pair.

Congrats — that’s awesome! I only have one and he’s magnificent. Seeing a pair in captivity would be very cool. I’m super jealous! :)

I’ll post a pic shortly. As for the grouper, I couldn’t be happier. Healthy, eating well, growing slowly as hoped, and leaves all living creatures alone. I’m estimating 7 years before she has to move on to the public aquarium. Her tank mates are great too. In addition to the angles there are multiple crevalle jack, a horse eye jack, two permit and a couple of lookdowns. Plus the remora and a shark nose goby. Count the spider crab plus three green crabs and I think the tank is complete. All but the angels and the goby I collected. I have burrfish, black sea bass, a large striped bass, pompano, pinfish and a pigfish in qt but reluctant to add because things have been going so well. Anyway, thx for asking.

That is a big grouper. How big is that tank? Looks pretty huge. Plywood? Would be cool to see more details on the whole system.

If you start with post 127, I tell the story of the grouper and the tank. Before post 127 was some of the issues I’ve had here in this board and YouTube, not worth reading. Several of the posts reporting / attacking me were removed so the back and forth chatter doesn’t make much sense.

Does anyone know what size or age French Angelfish pair?
You wont know until they pair off but I have heard from breeders in the past that the male has more color and streamers
