Their palys are typing! Encouraging mass movement of palys!!!!!;Walkingdead
Oh NOOO!!! Just like my dream!!! They are evolving to Super Palys. They are eventually going to take over and one day we eill be in aquariums and they are going to grow us!

Actually you are supposed to call a professional to come remove then based on the article.

I may offer mu services on craigslist: “Pay me to remove your dangerous corals”. Heck... I’ll take that ridiculous glass-box safety hazard and those dangerous heat emitting lights while I’m there for no extra charge

I'm pretty close to Canada, maybe I'll visit there and see if anyone wants to pay me as their coral removal specialist!

Will you bleach our houses too? Apparently that's the only way to "Disinfect" our homes ;Hilarious;Hilarious;Hilarious;Hilarious;Hilarious

I think they should focus more on solving the stupid people epidemic that seems to be spreading around the planet like a wildfire.

These are the “zoas” from her tank. The super ugly brown palys no one buys that are the most common palytoxiner. Everyone and their brother knows these are a big no no.

i have those growing in prime location on my rock lol. gonna try to cut off that piece of the rock soon.. wish me luck!

News articles are often written to be as irresistible to click through and as viral as possible, not as accurate or level-headed as possible.

The editor getting angry responses from Reefers from way outside of their normal demographic, and all the extra clicks this story will generate by our free advertising, could conceivably respond by giving that reporter a promotion and encouraging more similar stories.

I thought the bit about discouraging putting corals in your fish tank was funny because I put fish in my coral tank.

I had the same kind of brown palys spread and take over one of my tanks. I decided to redo my aquascape. I set up a kiddie pool outside and placed all my live rocks in it. I think one of my dogs took a drink from the pool.she started vomiting and was dead in 20 minutes. Be careful. I didn’t knowingly crush any palys. But the stress of moving them must have caused them to release toxin

Wow, that is truly tragic. I’m very sorry to hear it but glad you shared. It’s a strong reminder to be vigilant and careful.

I always work with pallys bare handed. Sometimes I break em or frag em. I never had any problem. But I do stay away from the ultra toxic versions. My lfs fragged one once and got a squirt in his eyes. He had problems for a week or two but in the end it was all good. Now he uses glasses when fragging.

I'm calling shenanigans on "touching a paly" resulting in palytoxin poisoning. I would be dead hundreds of times over if this was the case.

At least the news got the animal right this time. Last time I read one of these, it was being blamed on Xenia. :)

Reporters are the single least intelligent type of human and we should ignore 100% of what they write.

so i decided to try to clean up a rock with these ugly things on it and while i was trying to razorblade one, it totally squirted right at my face. luckily i was wearing a painter mask thing + sunglasses + gloves or there might be a new article en route.. lol

the live rock that has a ton of them on it is going to get jackhammered instead of trying to eradicate in other ways, these things are so difficult to get rid of too. not so sure live rock is all that worth it at this point
