Same here, never have had a particulate issue that your refrencing, and I also have been running Triton for just under a year.
Currently dosing straight into the DT as well.
Though I do get a small particulate bloom when it goes in but seconds later my pumps mix it in and its never to be seen again.
Curious on your dosing schedule and volume.
You do have your dosing schedule set at different intervals, or does your system dose all 4 parts at the same time? There should be a few minutes in between each part.
If not that would be the cause of such bad precipitation.
Many reefers here have the mag & ca dose only during the daytime,
Then have part 3 a&b alk dose only through the night.
Also you want to dose into a high flow area of the sump.
this is not from dosing... it detritus, empty shrmp shells etc.. i have no mech filtration. first time in my career i dont have any socks! and my system is so uln that i even upped feeding and turned skimmer off for last two weeks to get some no3 at least. so after a year tank is like soup from all the detritus.
i miss having a CRYSTAL clear tank.
I have had the same problem becon776. The corals consume this detritus along with other filter feeders and scavengers.
I would siphon the detritus in the refugium and run a filter sock for a while.
So i did order a trigger platinum 34 with the 10" roller mat. however plumbing it is not straightforward bc it is a red sea reefer 450. Sump ended up showing up cracked. so back to brs. I have about three days to cancel my order or move forward. I also just ordered another DOS so now I have two. Current sump has no ability to run mechanical filtration. it's 100% meant for pure triton method (crystal reef aquatics). I am back and forth of whether trying to give the this method another go or not. I never did dose any of the supplements even though I have the whole cor7 sitting in my basement. I don't know. ugh. Never could get chaeto to take off but then I read that 3a and 3b have traces in there specifically geared toward feeding chaeto.
I had Octo Aquatics make me up a magnetic floss tray to run after the refugium section to catch debris that makes it through the algae bed and random bits of algae. Simple, effective and a heck of a lot cheaper than replacing the sump.
