I have the aquaticlife 4 stage RODI system. I have it installed and have been using it, producing 6 TDS water that will drop to 0 after 24 hours. I think it is chlorine/chloramine that is in the water at the end.

What do these two parts of the system do?

One says "auto shutoff solenoid" and I can tell you that 100% it does not auto shut off, because I have made quite the mess, multiple times. an auto shut off would have been nice. LOL

the second one says flush valve, so I just "flush" the system by opening it for a minute before making water.

anyone have any idea what they are?

The flush valve is to keep your ro membrane clean and longer membrane life. Turn it on for about three minutes before and after you make pure ro/di water.

Use float to pair up with that auto shut off valve.

chloramine:

Should be zero straight after making water not 24 hours later.
My tds meter reads zero right after the di resin chamber. Change di resin when the meter hits 1ppm

Not sure if something would be in your fresh rodi water that escapes over a 24 hour period, like chloramine?

You could always pull a Ati Icp test on your reef’s water and Ati also test your di water In a separate vial.
