Junction box is done. We’re past the half way mark. I’ll keep filling hoping to be close by the end of the weekend but I doubt it.

Okay, quick update. No pics today but...!

1. I finally finished the plumbing. I will never use 1.5” flex PVC again!

2. All the wiring to the main junction box is complete.

3. Tested and bled the heating line for the tank.

4. I have cleaned out the QT corner of the fish room.

5. Fish graduated copper treatment today. I sanitized their 40 breeder while they hang out in a 40 gallon plastic bin. They will be moving into the fishroom for observation. I suffered three losses- dottyback and butterfly fish to the ICH or copper and a Christmas wrasse to carpet surfing.

6. DT is about 2/3 full. I’m hoping to have the rest done tomorrow or close to it. With the plumbing complete, I can now start filling the sump which should translate to a faster DT fill.

That’s all

Well, with my morning work briefing and the torture with my chiropractor out of the way, I got to work on the electrical panel.

It’s a tight squeeze but I placed two outlets in the box that are wired to the essential and non essential circuit.

I placed voltage/wattage/amp monitors to monitor total use age at a glance.

Below it goes the control board at the APEX. Getting to work on that now

Duuuuude...

I like the power display. Info on the modules you used? I see the ones on amazon but they are rated to 100v.

Stealing that idea- nice eye candy indeed.

I had thought about getting a couple ‘kill-a-watt ’ meters, but these look cooler

Cheers!

Thanks, bud! Here’s the link to the display modules

And here’s how I wired them to each EB832

Hope that makes sense. You can also splice into the power cable of the EB832 but I doubt you’re still warrantied. Why I opted to splice the extension chord connecting the two outlets.

Well, sorry for the silence. Had a bit of a flood in the basement and since had decided to clean the danged thing. I was filling one of my water storage tanks and a tube got caught on top of the float valve which caused it to stay open. I did find out my fish room was water tight lol and I now have a squeaky clean basement floor. Thank god it’s not finished. Anyway, lesson learned and modifications were made.

I did start on the apex panel.

Dude, I hate to laugh, but 2 weeks ago, my ‘water level tube’ in my rodi barrel detached and dumped 15 gallons on my basement floor. It’s funny how we are having so many parallels in our builds

And some of that water penetrated under my “sealed” fishroom wall and into the fishroom. I’m probably going to have to re-caulk my baseboards inside and out in order to feel confident any future spills won’t make it into the girls play room adjacent.

Glad your room is all sealed up, and congrats on the clean basement. Mine is such a clusterF that last night I tripped over a rolled up piece of carpet in the dark and badly bruised my shoulder.

Worst day of reefing BUT Wife gave me the go-ahead to a bigger tank so I guess it was a sorta ok day. surprisingly didn't lose all but one fish all corals fine but a lil agitated

Well, here’s where I’m leaving it for the night.

Have to do the wiring in the back for the non essential EB832 but I’ve run into a problem with the thing stuck in boot loader mode. I can get it to work but it basically mirrors the other EB832. I contact Neptune and waiting on a response.

Tank should be up and running tomorrow or Saturday. Board will be ready tomorrow and I’ll get the probes and all pumps wired up.

Home stretch now.

That wiring cover is sick! You should quit your job and start installing avionics....LOL JK...I think the worse job in the world would be an A&P....always working on them but never flying them....

Well, Neptune customer service did a nice job today. Took about 10 minutes to figure out my EB832 issue and all was right with the world.

Control board is coming together. Wiring is all done minus the water mixing station. Going to draw up what it is I want to accomplish and move on with it tomorrow morning.

Here’s what we have done.

Here’s the essential equipment EB
IMG_1030.JPG

And the non essential EB

Back of the control board
IMG_1048.JPG

Basically finished. Two more plugs that need wiring.
IMG_1050.JPG

Tomorrow, the tank should be full and I think I can get the sump online. Which means I’ll get it cycling, although... I can’t imagine the tank hasn’t been cycling in the 10 days it took to fill it up.

Agenda for tomorrow is get the last two outlets wired, run the probes, hang the control board panel and get sump online.

Awesome job Paul, looking great. Love the wire sheathing.

I only wish Neptune could have helped me out so quickly. Can’t blame them though, really. 6 year old, second hand apex lite. I’ll figure out a replacement soon and get my board going too.

I might run some EL wire around it and have conditional coloring based on alerts. It’s going to need some extra bells on to compete with yours!!
