    The frags have generously been donated to us by @Battlecorals! The only place you can find the largest selection of high quality Sps! http://battlecorals.com/

    Like the title says please keep all discussions/questions of any kind in the other thread. Here- https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/acro-grow-out-thread.228455/ Thank you so much

    Skimmerless is called pampers or pamper puddle
    skimmer is called sippies or sippy cup

    #1-Must be an active member W/100 post or more. First come first serve so we'll go in order of this thread for each side-skimmers VS skimmerless
    Team Skimmer-
    @jasonandsarah
    @Greenstreet.1
    @twilliard
    @jaguars4263
    @Crna

    Team Skimmerless-
    @Russ265
    @Pete polyp
    @TD13
    @Triggreef
    @SalinFL

    #2-Must post a picture every month starting when you receive your frag and every month the week of the 15th there after. 1 week leeway and also everyone gets one free miss.(If there's a good reason, like my phone fell in the toilet! Lol) Still have to post the pic at some point though.
    #2B-monthly photos will require a ruler at a good enough angle to clearly see the size and growth. Vertical and horizontal.
    All pics must be TRUE color and not overly saturated. Any pic the judges feel is overly photoshopped or just not showing true colors will be asked for a retake. (The most important thing in a grow out is pictures so if you don't feel you can take decent pics then.....)

    #3-Must list all equipment and water parameters within a week of receiving the frag. (Not again unless there's a change of equipment)
    water params required: (every month)

    alk
    no3
    calcium
    temp
    salinity

    Po4(at least once)

    nice to haves:
    PH
    mag
    potassium
    stront
    iron
    iodine

    #4-lets play nice and keep this friendly. No need for arguments or picking people apart. (Trash talk between teams is perfectly fine NOT ON THIS THREAD PLEASE!)

    Judging at the end of the 7? Month period(one month for acclimation and finding placement)grow out will be based on colors and growth. There will be a overall all winner with 2 runner ups. Overall winner best growth and color combo and then best color and best growth?

    **Frag must be left on the original plug**

    Red: 10 points
    Yellow: 15 points
    Orange: 20 points
    Green: 25 Points
    Blue: 30 Points

    Growth will be determined by hight gained, width gained and number of new branches. I feel like maybe a point system for this may work best as well?
    Hight- every 1/4" 10 points
    Width- every 1/4" 15 points
    New branch growth 20 points (have to be at least 1/4"?) Is this to complicated to judge?

    Every team participant will be granted 5 points for every month they post they're picture on time.(points not granted for that month if late)
    Every team will be docked 5 points per month if there's a drop out without a very good reason.

    soloists can join and get their frag from the same or a different source as long as they follow the rules and we realize that some may cut from their own colony and avoid the lag we will be going through with water params, lights, etc.
    They will be judged individually.
    teams are judged cumulatively and will retain the original 5VS5.

    Judges:
    @Battlecorals @mdbannister and @SunnyX

    The contest thread is to only post data. no bashing/trash talk here, only on the other thread. otherwise we will have to sift through 100s of pages for any real info. Thanks so much and I hope everyone participants or not has fun and enjoys seeing this happen.

    Other thread for questions and everything else https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/acro-grow-out-thread.228455/

    Frag is about 1.25 inches including the glue. About 1/4 inch wide.

    Parameters today by red sea unless otherwise noted:

    No3(api): <5
    Po4(hanna): 0.55
    Temp (apex): 77.9
    Salinity: 1.025

    System details:
    200g marineland dd with 55g sump refugium/macro, 20g frag tank (soon to be swapped out) plumbed in and 40g frag tank plumbed in.

    tried to get it as close as possible to the original photo submitted. Same angle, everything. Looks like 2mm length growth maybe?

    Cut areas healed up noticeably. I believe one will branch... the other may blob (it may surprise me).

    [IMG]

    side shot to give perspective of the cut's heal (and growth) - substantial encrusting. about 1-2mm of coverage on the plug surpassing the glue. I am getting a purple hue, but not a "blue". a patch of green as well.

    some things to note. i tried amino acids and got an outbreak of dinos. -not happy

    if anything needs clarification or a retake, dont hesitate to pm me or hit me up in the other thread.

    My refractometer was off and the salinity was a little elevated. I had a faulty test kit which was giving me a reading 10x lower than what it actually was. I had been dosing nitrate targeting 5ppm and due to the test kit it was really 40-50 ppm. This explains why after the first 2 weeks the growth was stunted because that was about the time I was trying to raise the nitrate.

    1/8" vertical growth, 1/16" gained in thickness encrusting on the glue some, green on some of the upper corallites, blue on the tip and a purple tint on some of the lower corallites. Polyps have sprouted between the corallites.

    My tank parameters are about the same with the exception of po4 was down to .06 but has done up to .1 again. As a result of the po4 going down, my alk consumption went up and so my alk dropped to about 7.4 ish. And ca dropped slightly as well, I upped my daily dosing buy 12 ml for each part to compensate. So far so good.

    Getting great colors you can see from my top down. The measurements photos I can't get color too great because the frag is too far away from the glass and I have to zoom in which kills the shot.

    Encrusting is good, and looks like the tips have gotten ready to explode. ;)

    Tank parameters are holding steady. Working on slowly raising my mag and alk a little. I'm not seeing any noticeable vertical/horizontal growth yet, but the glue is almost completely encrusted at this point. Color has maintained a nice red, with good polyp extension, and at this point the growth ring is white. So no additional colors yet.
