Hey guys, in preparation for summer vacations I bought the Eheim auto feeder and the feeding station. I use New Life Spectrum pellets, but they will absolutely not sink they are stuck at the surface of the water inside the feeding station. The only sink if I move the water a bit.

Is there a pellet that actually sinks without help or water movement.

no idea what you're planning to give the food to but hikari crab cuisine always sinks for me
Alright I will check it out. Thanks. Because the NLS pellets dropped 4hours ago and were still floating when I came back home.

Ocean nutrition formula one or two pellets will sink.

I feed NLS in an auto feeder too. Hated how they would just float down the overflow. Get a fgeeding ring. It will hold the pellets till they are moist and actually sink.
Well I have the Eheim feeding station which is the same principle as a feeding ring except it goes deeper in the water. Problem is that it stops water flow...

I just leave it, eventually the fish will learn how to get it.

They fall eventually, and I used to like that it spread the feeding out.

Now, my Cleaner shrimp runs right up the tube when he senses the drum turning and "makes it rain" for his tankmates!!!

This is my Red-Lined Wrasse's job. She zooms up there and pops the pellets in the feeding ring until they start to sink and everyone can eat. ;Hilarious

I had this exact same issue last year. I had the eheim feeding station to contain the food, went away for the weekend and came back to a disgusting floating mat of moldy NLS pellets that never sank. I switched to TDO and they seem to work better. They still float at first but will start to sink after 10 min or so. I haven't had the floating mat issue since switching. I still would love to find something that immediately sinks though. I switched to a screen top and no longer can use the feeding station so the pellets are free swimmers now, so immediate sinking would help a lot.

Which pellets did you end up getting? I'm also looking for sinking pellet. Having same issue and would like to buy & test. Currently have Ocean Nutrition fish love it but they don't sink.

Nyos Wild Goji Pellets sink instantly and some of my more finicky fish love it. Still trying to get my multibar angel to eat some but I wouldn't be surprised if he ever takes to eating pellets

Like they sink instantly or after say few minutes? About to buy that's why

Are they too soft? If soft they might stick to my auto feeder I worry!

I ended up buying the Nyos Wild Goji Pellets and they sink faster than Ocean Nutrition but not instant. I ended up using one of those food rings with them.
