Extraordinary effort! Interesting info on the peroxide dips. Hope the fish makes a 100% recovery.

@Russ265 amazing what you did and that you give them a chance to be part of your tank. Or what is the plan for that 2 survivors?
@Russ265 That's bad news, brother. Its the SW version of Columnaris (Flexibacteria). I (unsuccessfully) tried to treat a Tomini (pic below) with a similar condition. I used everything I had with zero impact: Kanaplex, Nitrofurazone, Metronidazole, Erythromycin. If given the chance again, I would try the triple sulfa antibiotics: http://www.apifishcare.com/product.php?id=639#.V0snTLorK1I
I'm pretty sure it's a gram negative bacterial infection.
Is it effective against gram negative? If so i dont see why you couldn't Try it
What would it hurt?and some gram positive... its pretty strong stuff.
It's on anemones but it does say it's a good gram negative antibiotic
i want to try cipro (strongest antibiotic i know of).
what do you think?
I think is safe to say that using cipro is one of the medications to make real sure you are dosing correct. Would that be a fair statement @Humblefish?Ciprofloxacin can be pretty harsh on fish IME. But it is active against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria.
I guess I've never heard of that one, I'd have to do some research on it. Does it do gram negative? What about azithromycin? Strengh wise its up there but not as harsh as cipro. I believe. It wouldnonly be speculation from me however
Yes I believe it does, it is to us, a zpack. But i believe it can be found in liquid form.I guess I've never heard of that one, I'd have to do some research on it. Does it do gram negative?
