Personally I use deltec fr509 reactor with rowaphos , I find when using phosphate remover in a reactor it is more efficient in removing phosphate ,as when in a reactor the water flows through the media at a controlled rate and makes contact with all the media ,and when it's just in a bag it's just sitting in one clump so I don't think you get as much contact when not in a reactor but hey that's just my opinion.

Many use reactor to control/remove PO4, r u using a skimmer too? Skimmer's will help remove organic waste that'll turn to PO4. Reducing feeding helps too. Just make sure to keep testing before, after and while using reactor to maintain PO4 levels, u don't want 0 nor reduce it too quickly.

I have and use a couple TLF 150's and a few BRS single reactors. They all work just fine. Just be careful that you don't strip too much PO4 too fast. Your goal is not to hit 0.00, but rather somewhere near 0.03. Start with about 1/2 the suggested amount, but expect it to get used up fairly quickly, and go from there.
