You are not worried about getting a portrait, you just want a quick snapshot of your fish. Maybe it is to get an image for an ID or to get feedback about a sick fish, how do you get the picture? Do you reach for your phone, a point-and-shot camera, a DSLR, mirrorless camera, or something else? Do you have any specific camera settings or lighting settings? Do you worry about any other details like the angle of the camera to the glass, the ambient lighting in the room, or anything else? If you need a quick pic of your fish, what do you do?

Ooo! I want to see more input on this one! I'm usually taking lots of pictures and one of them just seems to be awesome...well...awesome for me. Haha!

Personally, when I want to capture a quick picture of my fish, I usually just use my phone camera. I don't worry too much about getting the perfect shot or using fancy settings - I just snap away! One thing to keep in mind is to angle the camera in a way that minimizes any glare or reflections on the glass. This will help you get a clearer shot of your fish.

If you're looking to print your photo and display it as a piece of art, you might want to consider getting an acrylic glass print https://www.frameshop.com.au/acrylic-prints. These prints are super high-quality and have a glossy, professional look that can make your fish photo really pop! But if you're just taking a quick snapshot for your own personal use, a phone camera should do the trick just fine. Hope that helps

I have a cheap cannon with a not cheap telescopic lens. Means I can take photos from a distance and not scare the fish.
