Happy Memorial Day to everyone especially OUR GREAT TROOPS! After disappointments with prices and Limitations with spaces in some sumps I have decided to Build my own. I had different sumps over the years but If I wanted to change out skimmers or reactors I found many a time there were space limitations due to weirs and partitions. In my next build I would like to build My Own so I KNOW my reactors or skimmers can fit without an issue. Please post photos of self made sumps so I can appreciate all the ideas I can consider. Thank You!

Like putting a sump kit in a tank?
Or 100% custom fab?

Heres my sump kit in a 20L.

Ive made some changes to what is in each compartment since these photos were taken though.....

Here is a DIY kit I got from Fujicube.com and installed in a 20gallon long. You can place the baffles to whatever dimensions you need each chamber to be. It was very easy too do. Even for a novice. Your silicone beads won’t be as nice but it will function
I’d recommend spending a little bit more on baffles that are sturdy and adjustable compartment level. I like the sock holders and the entire design of this system. They make baffles that are laser measured to fit your tank exactly. Kinda homemade. More like modified. LOL. I chopped out the sock area to put in a dual over flow into the filter roller which is on a stand. Then drains into a cryptic zone. To skimmer / dosing area / frag return area. Algae scrubber is my old over flow box from my old 120. Then return section.
Simple kinda.

Super simple 20g long. Glass from home depot for the baffles and lids. Eshopps float valve ato. BRS bulkheads for returns, overflows and sump overflow drain. Printed media basket holding filter pads as needed.
