Cool beans. I have a feeling tomorrow should be an informative day for me. Where was this orchid show?

Phipps Garden Center. Happens the first weekend of spring every year. We usually pick up a couple, but this year we're setting up an indoor pond with a wall to keep orchids and bromilliads on.

Where is that? What type of orchids are you getting? I'm an orchid man myself.

Sorry Scopus, we live in Pittsburgh, Pa, hence the forum name. We didn't get any this year, as we have too many plants now. I'll be working on something for that this summer.

Paul, they just did the conservatory, this was at the garden center over on Shady and Fifth in Oakland.

Opps! Sorry Misled, wasn't paying any attention to the forum you were posting in, my bad.

Do you have a speedlight?
If you dont you should get one..makes a WORLD of difference when it comes to the harshness of shadows and detail that on camera direct flash causes.
Speedlight and a .15cent index card can be your best friend taking pics of flowers.
This was with my 430ex and a index card used to bounce the light onto the flower..instead of the flash firing directly at it..looks much more natural and preserves the details in the flower that can be washed out by direct flash

Flash can be your biggest enemy if not used properly

No I don't, but then I don't do much flash work anyway. I'm usually outside.
