Hard to get a good pic with the ruler since the branch is at a weird angle. It’s about 2.25 inches from base to tip but hard to get without the ruler looking weird. lol.

Wow, that's great growth! Unfortunately, mine has stalled with recent tank issues. Lost a couple of pieces already. Fox flame and Orange ceeamsicle are not looking so hot. Sending an ICP out this week. Still alive so far...

How is everyone's tank doing so far in the new year? We need some more informative conversations and competitive banter going on in this thread!

I'd be interested to know what everyone is using for lights on their tanks?

I'll start by saying that I use a ReefBreeders Photon V2 hung 13-14" above the water reaching a full intensity of 100% for channels 3,5,6, 40% for channel 4, and 50% each for channels 1 and 2. My frag is around 8" beneath the water line.

A bit late to the conversation. I run a Kessil AP700 at full power, hung 7" from surface of water. Tank is a Red Sea Reefer 250. It's an old light fixture but I love the whiter color it produces and it's crisl shimmer on the sand bed.

Compared to the new ReefLed 90's on my latest P500 build. I prefer the Kessil over Red Sea. I thought they would be similar given their similar technology but the Kessil does a better job at producing the white I prefer. The Red Sea leds are more red/purple with soft shimmer effect - almost having a disco ball effect like multi lens fixtures.

I'm new to successfully keeping SPS from dying. Never been able to keep any SPS alive before the reboot last year. So far the tank is doing really well. I've been able to grow a few SPS and my Battle Corals frag is doing good. It's continued to encrust the coral gum and I'm seeing some of the corallite beginning to grow out. I will update with my official January post.

Official January Submittal

Frag has continued encrusting the coral gum and growing out some new corallites. New buds are popping up on the old growth and some new areas around the plug edges where it has encrusted.

I'm also starting to see the white tips and pink coloration around the corallite edges - mainly isolated to the new growth and more mature corallites.

I've been able to stabilize my tank and removed the algae overgrowth problem I had previously. I think with them under control, I am speculating more nutrients are available for the slower growing corals to utilize.

Looks like the plug has grown a bit taller. About 1/8"-1/4". More PE since the last update as well.

Hey everyone!

Here's my January entry. I accidentally put the centimeter side starting at zero, not the inches, but its still pretty close with the inches on the other side. Somehow the pictures got more blurry when I uploaded them? Also thanks for the awesome ruler Adam!
