Hello I’m finally getting g around to posting some pictures of this. I have tried to research it but could not find anything g about it so gave up. Looks almost like a flower. Retracts when touched. And when lights are off. Seems to grow onto anything it touches and completely surrounds and engulfs corals. Also growing on my glass. Color is dark brown maybe purple. Almost looks like a vine that would grow on a fence outside. Here is a few pics any help would be appreciated.

I'm no expert, but that looks like a type of brown star polyp. If it's like the other invasive star polyps, that is really hard to get rid of unfortunately. Early on in my reefing career, I let a green star polyp colony get of control and eventually I had to take out the affected rocks and bleach them. I hope I'm wrong in this case

Almost looks like Sarcothelia sp. (sometime called blue clove polyps) it is similar to sympodium, but very invasive.

My pic clearly shows a center like disc but pic of sarcothelia does not have this disc so not sure this is it either
